    Description

For sale is a rare vintage 1948 "Froggy The Gremlin"  Rubber Squeeze Toy based on the Buster Brown Gang TV Show of the 40’s and 50’s by Rempel Mfg. Inc.
This little guy is in great condition for it's age and still squeaks when squeezed.  Froggy’s color is still good but has darkened with age  and there are no breaks. It does not stand on it's own but close .
    Some History:
The first television program was hosted by Smilin’ Ed McConnell and his Buster Brown Gang.  Actor, Andy Devine, took over the TV program when McConnell died and the show was renamed "Andy’s Gang"!  The two shows aired during the 40’s and 50’s.
Froggy was a mischief-maker and famous for interrupting the guests on the show.  Andy would say “Plunk Your Magic Twanger Froggy” and he would pop up on top of a grandfather’s clock saying “Hiya Kids, Hiya, Hiya”.
    I
buy most of my pieces at auctions, flea markets & yard sales so I don't know the history of the item.  I am not an antique dealer or expert.  I describe the item along with any flaws and markings I can find the best I can . Thank you for looking !!!!!
