Description
This is a great Ed Levin ring from the 1970's in great condition for a piece of this age, the floral design is so beautiful. I have this ring and a matching bracelet for sale in sterling silver but I love the floral design even more in the gold. The ring is signed LEVIN 14K STER. The ring is size 7 1/2 and the band is wider than a normal band at 1/3 " wide. There is moderate wear from gentle use and good care by the original owner. This ring would make a lovely wedding band of course but it is also a nice stacking band or statement ring. I have it on my pinky in the the photo and it looks great next to the V shaped Levin ring that is also for sale here.I feel that the rings made by Mr. Levin, especially the ones made in the early years that he may have made himself (1960's-1970's) are very special and will only go up in value in my opinion.
The ring is gold and made with a patented process of layering 14k gold over sterling that Mr. Levin developed. Mr Levin developed his layered gold over sterling to make gold jewelry that is more affordable for his customers. It is patented because it is a thick layer of gold over sterling, not gold plating, or gold filled but his own version that does not wear off or fade with time. The gold is meant to wear, hold up and look as beautiful as solid gold. The man was brilliant because I have collected his vintage jewelry for many years and even 60 year old pieces made in this way endure.
It is important for me to let my customers know the jewelry comes from a non smoking home. The best part is you can put my jewelry right on, or give it as a gift, (unlike many vintage pieces) because....... Pieces are cleaned and polished by me in a solution of warm water and soap, and if need be I brush it with a soft toothbrush and polish it until my arm hurts! I know some people like patina in most cases true patina stays on the piece but the jewelry is clean, free of dirt and oils that build up from wear. Finally the piece is wrapped in a new white tissue paper. (The rest of my packaging supplies may be recycled) I love to answer your questions, I am happy to take and post additional photos at your request, I check for sales or messages throughout the day. Thank You for looking, please check out my other Ed Levin pieces and other jewelry in my collection. Sincerely ,Mare
