  • Condition: Turns out I had this, a different Enzenbacher Belt Buckle, on one of my belts I hadn't worn in decades. This sculpture itself is in Mint Condition, and only the the hasp that held it to the belt is a bit scratched up from trying to get it removed from the belt. Otherwise like new, in Very Nearly Mint Condition. A very large 4-3/4x2-1/2", intricately carved and cast, with a beautiful golden bronze patina, THIS IS ONE OF THE TWO, INCREDIBLY RARE AND DIFFICULT TO FIND, INFAMOUS AND LEGENDARY DALE ENZENBACHER BELT BUCKLES !!

    Description

    DALE ENZENBACHER BELT BUCKLE SCULPTURE OF DRAGON, INCREDIBLY INTRICATE AND DETAILED, BY THE "MAD SCULPTOR OF SAN FRANCISCO", WELL KNOWN FOR HIS ELABORATE WHIMSICAL FANTASY SCULPTURES AND FIGURINES. THIS IS ONE OF TWO, VERY RARE, VERY SOUGHT AFTER, AND DIFFICULT-TO-FIND BELT BUCKLES THAT DALE MADE IN VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES IN THE MID TO LATE 1970s.  WE ALSO CARRY THE OTHER ONE.
    Currently living in the Whiteaker neighborhood of Eugene, Oregon, Dale was a very active, award-winning sculptor at F/SF Conventions in the 1970s and 1980s.
    I picked this up from him directly in 1976 at one of them, and it's been stored in my closet ever since, very seldom worn (I don't like large belt buckles-- cut into my stomach!), so it's still in virtually mint condition, and with his copyright and initial(s) embossed on the back, under his eye (SEE LAST THREE PHOTOS) The grinding marks you see on the back, under his nose, chin, tongue and paw are where Dale himself removed various burrs-- they were not made by me, and you cannot see them on the front, sculptural side.     This is a very large belt buckle:  4-3/4x2-1/2", with a beautiful golden bronze patina.
