Antique/Vintage Hand-Made US Navy / Sailor's Trinket Box

Description

This is a lovely folksy item.  It is a handmade trinket box from the estate of a former sailor.  He had been a collector of US Navy maritime collectibles going back to just before the Civil War.  I have listed this item with a date from between 1918 to 1938.  I believe this dates to around WWI, but it could be earlier.
Box is hand carved wood with an image of a sailing ship on the cover, flanked by two anchors.  Anchors and rope border around the picture appears to have been burnt into the wood.  Inside there are four sections are partitioned with wood slats that can be slid out (removed).
Box measures approximately 4" x 10.25" x 1.65"
